ART & TECH COMBO IN SEAMLESS: COMPUTATIONAL COUTURE =TURNED ON FASHIONS

TURNED ON FASHIONS --- they call it seamless: computational couture....a stylish event featuring artists and techno advances in clothing that walked the runway this week at Boston's Museum of Science...Mithoodie take a peek at these awesome wearables!

Heartbeat Hoodie -- by Diana Eng (RISD, '05) takes pix as your heartrate increases therefore offering "involuntary blogging" Note that designer Eng can also be seen on Bravo's PROJECT RUNWAY hosted by Heidi Klum....the question is Diana wearing her hoodie on the show...and how fast is her heartbeat beating on camera?

REINVENTING CLOTHING.....and the body!

The goal of the fashion show is to reinvent what we think about clothing and the body...from the perspectives that include physical, psychological, social, technological, educational and aesthetic.

ENDANGERED Senses: by Gemma Shusterman (MIT MEDIA LAB masters student) is an elephant -- yep ELEPHANT-inspired costsume that picks up infrasonic and seismic vibrations allowing humans to experience the sensation of "being an elephant" --- hmmm infrasonic and seismic vibrations-- I think we call that an earthquake in California!Elephant

Shake rattle and roll with Endangered Senses-- a costume by Gemma Shusterman (MIT MEDIA LAB master's student) with this wearable that picks up infrasonic and seismic vibrations....

GEEK BRIDE and what would any techno-fashion show be without a bride -- and the ultimate GEEK bridal 'gown' showed up last week at "seamless: computational couture" Geekbride

GEEK bride-- as seen at seamless: computational couture cyberfashion show at the Boston Museum of Science....

....curated by Christine Liu and Nicholas Knouf (MIT media Lab Master's students) and Lisa Monrose (Director of Brainy Acts) at the Boston Museum of Science...this blogger Joyce Schwarz, could not find info on the I DO costume...but since we're all geeks reading this or know geeks-- I'm sure that any geek can tweak the bridal gown to do whatever techno-feat you or your groom want....

FUTURISTIC PRODUCT PLACEMENT? aha this kind of event not only brings out stylish geeks but also major brands who yearn for the next-generation of product placement including such sponsors as Motorola, Glaceau Water, East Coast LIghting and Production Services and more.....for more info and streaming video go to the link from where I found this entry -- Slashdot of course... http://slashdot.org/article.pl?sid=06/02/03/2146240
