The-eg.com: Entertainment Gathering @ THE GETTY UPCOMING Dec 2-4

Entertainment Gathering -- @ The Getty, Dec 2-4.

Hollywood2020.blogs.com founder Joyce Schwarz just got an email from the organizer of this conference saying they still have a few VIP attendee spots open. The event www.theeg.com looks like a stunning one that seems to have gone under the radar here in SoCal...It sounds like a cross-between what TED is/used to be and the glory of a 19th Century soiree!

If you want more info, email me at joyceschwarz@gmail or go ahead and contact the conference folks directly -- Jane Rosch (jane@the-eg.com).

What's www.the-eg.com -- it stands for "Entertainment Gathering" "Entertainment Gathering" and has been called a celebration of creative enterprise, and a great swirl of inspirations

the-eg.com organizer describes the event in his own words:

We surfed around the web and at www.businessinnovationfactory.com, found this description of the upcoming event by the conference organizer Michael Hawley:

At the BIF website:  Hawley describes it this way: (note the highlights in blue are this blog's way of pointing out soem of the VIP's and modern wonders who will be presenting/speaking & more)

excerpted from the BIF website --Michael Hawley talking about the upcoming Entertainment Gathering December 2-4 at The Getty --

"Some of your friends might like to think of EG as a bit like TED was when TED was young --- intimate, bubbly and unpretentious.

Many of the speakers will be familiar (Nicholas Negroponte giving an update on his "one laptop per child" progress; Marvin Minsky musing on emotions and machines). Others will be household names you never expected to meet (Tim Kring, the mastermind behind NBC's HEROES; Jonathan Winters, one of the great comedic geniuses of the 20th century; Floyd Landis, the controversial Tour de France winner).

And others I'd put in the "someday you'll say 'I'll never forget it: I met him at EG when he was 28'...

" category: rising stars with a bright future. The presenter and attendee list includes Oscars, MacArthurs, Emmys, Pulitzers, etc, etc.

Roughly 60 presenters, 3 days, a splendid campus, and absolutely fantastic food. It's really a refreshing, extraordinary group. And the audience seems to be just as celebrated.

Hollywood2020.blogs.com read that last year Hawley showed up intending to talk and ended up playing Chopin duets with Yo Yo Ma...and now he's running the conference!

BLOG READERS NOTE: until we can confirm Hollywood2020.blogs.com ability to offer you a 25 percent discount why don't you do the same that we are doing -- head over to www.the-eg.com to see the great promo website and also email Jane Rosch (jane@the-eg.com)
