Would a combo of youtube.com & twitter.com form a dynamic mass media duo that could just be one of the answers for next-generation television? Here's why I believe it could be a killer app. What should we call it "twittertube"?
Twitter & YOUTUBE = beyond Teletext?
WHY COMBO TWITTER & YOUTUBE? because it provides a main stream media option for Youtube on international TV. Sure CNN and FOX TV and other networks are using Twitter.com but what if it were real-time like something called teletext long popular in Europe.
*If you're wondering what teletext is -- here is the wikipedia definition and here is a quick screengrab of a screen. Teletext - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia This article is about the Teletext system as a whole. For the UK company whose Teletext services are also branded as "Teletext", see Teletext Ltd. example of Spain's teletext with primitive imagery system. AND IF YOU SEE THE LATEST PHILIPS TV you'll see that the dual screen allows teletext and TV simultaneously -- why not twitter and tv simultaneoursly too?
WHY NOT TV THAT SHOWS TWITTER AND TV SIMULTANEOUSLY and channel that shows YOUTUBE & twitter simultaneously real time (okay delay it for those blipsters ouot there)
Run the channel 24/7 on satellite or terrestial TV and feature several tracks --a) music video, b) politics c) Comedy (with big name comedians) etc.
AND SO IT GOES -- looks like Verizon may be doing something just like I'm taling about ??Twitter, Facebook, YouTube Coming to FiOS TVTwitter and Facebook are both part of a widget platform that Verizon is opening up ... social features, at some point built directly into television sets. ...newteevee.com/2009/03/14/twitter-facebook-youtube-coming-to-fios-tv/ - 33k - Cached -

Track III: The Broadband Platform – PC, Mobile, TV and Advertising The Web, Social Media and Advertising: Transforming and Disassembling the World of Traditional Media and CommunicationsChange and innovation is at the core of our industry. There is no turning back the clock. Traditional media now works with and embraces that change. There is a continual, if uneasy partnership between traditional media and the new technologies, but it continues as a powerful force forward nonetheless. Between the power of the web, social media and new forms of commerce, the entire daily life of the consumer, vis a vis the entertainment, communications and commerce experience is forever altered. The partnership between the traditional media and new media has created a new and interesting era in the relationship between the innovator and the established system – one that is open and generally encourages and rewards change.
