DYSON -- keypoints: The Internet will have become more ubiquitous but less visible,most things will have Internet identities ,the biggest issue will be not search but filtering:  fundamental shift in the balance of power towards,much harder for consumers to get free content anonymously individuals. People go on the Web in search of attention; they don't want to give it as much as get it. It's just that the advertisers are not the center of attention ,people judge their own worth by their number of friends (Friendster) or fans (MySpace) or business contacts (LinkedIn). Internet of the future will be much more tightly linked to physical space.

HEIDI FLEISS STUD FARM FOR WOMEN -- REAL OR REEL

Heidi Fleiss is in the news again...this time she says she is opening a 'stud farm' for women. Is it real or reel? Reminiscent of the film "Deuce Bigelow" and "THE LAST MAN ON EARTH" Sci fi films it could or could not be true. Some bloggers say that it is simply a PR gimmick. One reporter I talked to today says that it is illegal in the town of her choice to have hookers (or studs) who are men> According to a report in the DETROIT FREE PRESS: Back in the business: But with a twist, former "Hollywood Madam" Heidi Fleiss. She says she'll set up a brothel in the southern Nevada desert in Crystal featuring male prostitutes serving female customers. A possible snag: County Sheriff Tony DeMeo said that because Fleiss is a convicted felon, she could be banned from the county's legal sex trade. Show your friends, your mom, the girl next to you on the bus…“ Most news reports are quick to point out that the SG downloads are not porn but rather adult-content aimed at the 18 and over. An AP story that seems to have gotten pick up around the world because of it's profile of the naughty new Video iPod downloads says that the SG girls site posted 500,000 downloads of their 'sexy videos' within the first 24 hours.

Hollywood2020 blog founder Joyce Schwarz is fascinated by the CNN article that talks about how there is no FINAL CUT any more...In an article on CNN.com, brought to our attention by Slashdot.org titled Whose 'Star Wars' is it, anyway?,with a subhead "The story is over when Lucas says it is"

By Todd Leopold, reporte for CNN." Leopold talks about how Lucas and others are changing modern films by adding sequences, characters and even more. For example in ET, Leopold says Lucas changed the police guns for radios because he thought one of the scenes was too violent. There's lots more in the CNN story and it provides some food for thought on what's real and what's REEL in Hollywood and music today. But as Leopold says so poignantly, " perhaps, "Star Wars" has become a classic sci-fi multiverse conundrum, with alternate histories and varied points of view. ARE BLOGGERS RESPONSIBLE REPORTERS?

A question by a CNN audience member of the show ON THE STORY on are bloggers responsible in their reporting and can you trust blog news was interpreted by the anchor with another question to the Webcammed bloggers Lori and Eric-Woods as he's questioning if your reporting is responsible. One of the anchors 'stuck-up' for bloggers by saying many are experts in their areas. This blogger Joyce Schwarz is not sure how being an expert in your area makes you any more responsible but it is certainly a question that she continues to ask. Webcammed reporter Lori notes in the interview on CNN that bloggers can update/correct blogs if they are not correct which is a challenge for reporters in other media.

THE "REEL" NEWS HERE: that bloggers are suddenly BECOMING news. And that reporters in all mediums are suddenly not just ON THE STORY but rather THE STORY.  Just what are they teaching in JSchool these days besides make-up techniques and on-camera presence? Hopefully, journalism majors are discovering to cover news cross-platform for those many communication pipes being built for the future. So that some day the rise of Citizen's Journalism is not seen as an "us versus they" paradigm.

For the record Joyce Schwarz (this blogger) has an undergraduate degree in journalism BSJ from Ohio University and earned her Masters Degree in Professional Writing from USC. She has worked in MSM (mainstream media) and actually enjoys blogging about both MSM and Citizen's Journalism.

Controversy surrounds residents (as the gamers or participants are called) of the Second Life Community , www.secondlife.com, as they begin to hold their own Second Life Community Convention (SLCC), New York Law School October 8 and 9, immediately following the NYLS's 3rd Annual State of Play conference.

ENTER THE METAVERSE: USER-GENERATED CONFERENCE:

Conceived of and organized by Second Life Residents, the SLCC brings together over 150 participants from all over the world to New York City for a day and a half of presentations, demos and conversation about the future of Second Life and the Metaverse - the emerging 3-D World Wide Web. SECOND LIFE FOUNDER APPROVES:'It's entirely appropriate that Second Life Residents have developed and organized this event," said Philip Rosedale, CEO and Founder of Second Life. 'Everything in Second Life is created by the Residents. Why should the Convention be any different? We're psyched the Residents have taken on such an undertaking and are making it a great success."A unique aspect of the SLCC will be the ability for Residents to participate in the event regardless of their location. This is facilitated by the live, mixed-reality simulcast from New York Law School into a virtual recreation of the convention in Second Life. Likewise, video from the virtual convention will be streamed live to New York Law School for an interactive experience with a dynamic virtual world.

FRENCH MEDIA WATCHDOG GROUP SHOWS BLOGGERS HOW TO COUNTER CENSORSHIP...GOAL TO ENCOURAGE FREEDOM OF PRESS.... 

Reporters Withough Borders is an association officially recognized as serving the public interest (according to the www.RSF.org website. That site goes on to say that "more than 1/3 of the world's people live in countries where there is no press freedom.  The site says, 42 media professionals lost their lives in 2003 for doing what they were paid to do --keeping us informed. The site says, taht today, more than 130 journalists around the world are in prison for 'simply doing their job.'

That same week, personal pals of Schwarz were using SKYPE (VOIP voice over Internet protocol) to talk directly to friends and colleagues throughout China).
