"FROG: Nope, it’s not another acronym -- it’s the Crazy Frog Ringtone from Jamster -- now part of the VeriSign family -- which offers more than 50,000 pieces of content including ringtones, games and community services according to its website. The Crazy Frog ringtone has grossed the U.S. equivalent of $20 million dollars. It was all the rage in Europe much of the fall and through the holidays. In fact, on the famous Boxing Day, 2004 Radio Aid broadcast of 224 commercial radio stations, Prime Minister Tony Blair made headlines when he said he did not carry a mobile and could not identify the “Crazy Frog Ringtone.” How Jamster and its Swedish creator repurposed and personalized this ringtone is a real lesson in modern mobile marketing. Mobile users can choose from more than 20 variations of the Crazy Frog, ranging from “The Crazy Frog-New Years Waltz” to “The Crazy Frog-Funky” to the “The Crazy Frog goes to Mexiko” (sic) -- demonstrating to licensors how important varying presentation of content is in this mobile marketplace. At press time, Crazy Frog was in trouble because of a reported third leg addition to its anatomy.
WHO CREATED CRAZY FROG: A) Well to be honest, he was kind of 'leap-frogged' together.
1) CRAZY FROG SOUND is from Daniel Malmedahl, a 24-year-old computer salesman from Gothenburg in Sweden MalmedahlWeb site. was 17(back in 1997) when he decided to record an impression of his friends' motorbikes on his computer. Why? Just because. The audio is supposedly a re-creation of a Swedish Moped.

3) FROG SOUND JUMPS TO THE INSANITY SITE: the sound was set against a picture of a red Formula One racing car. Supposedly if you looked at the two together for a minute and started to laugh was insane.
4) INSANITY SITE VISITOR CREATES FROG: Another Swede, Erik Wernquist, a 27-year-old 3-D graphics designerWeb site who had taken the Insanity Test decides to draw an animated frog to mouth the sound. Wernquist called his new creation The Annoying Thing The design : a blue frog with a goofy grin, motorcycle helmet and leather jacket.
5)TWO FROG CREATORS NEVER MET: Sound creator Malmedahl and frog designer Wernquist have never met. They have talked on the phone. Wernquist knew Malmedahl was for real when he re-created the sound for him.
6) JAMSTER (bought by the US firm VeriSign for $152.5 million is said to have spent $14 million promoting the CRAZY FROG ring-tone mostly via cable television commercials on channels like MTV.

CRAZY FROG RINGTONE TRANSFER TO BEST SELLING TUNE:
CRAZY FROG TUNE OUTSELLS COLDPLAY SINGLE 4 to 1: At press time, "Crazy Frog Axel F," the first tune created for mobile phones to cross into mainstream music charts, was outselling the new single of the group Coldplay by about four to one according to the UK Charts company. The Official UK Charts Company. The chart takes into account sales of CD singles and downloads.
HOW ARE FANS BUYING THE TUNE? NOT JUST ON THE INTERNET-- almost all sales of the "Crazy Frog Axel F" came from retail stores selling the CD single, said Paul Clifford, operations director of Official UK Charts.
CRAZY FROG MIXES WITH EDDIE MURPHY
WHAT IS THE CRAZY FROG SONG AND WHO PRODUCED IT? Two German club disc jockeys, Reinhard Raith and Wolfgang Boss, mixed the noise with "Axel F," the instrumental theme from the 1984 Eddie Murphy film ""Beverly Hills Cop" films They released it last week as a CD single.The CD single "Crazy Frog Axel F" is released by Gusto Records.
