GEEK-CHIC: GAL GAME TESTER TELLS 'HER-SIDE'
Revenge of the Nerds: "No one's really gonna be free until nerd persecution ends."
You've come a long way baby...finally, being geek is chic.
My colleague Pamela Smith, the founder of Mythworks Consulting link, who spent years producing, directing, writing media products for the 'super science geeks' at Hughes, Boeing, Raytheon, GM & JPL spotlights this wonderful post by her in-house IT manager Aurora Miller on "GEEK-CHIC".
This blogger dedicates this holiday weekend post to the girls who took science and math in high school and the girls who took off their glasses in anticipation of their first kiss and the girls like me who were called 'the brain' and found refuge in dating geeks who thought that was a 'turn-on'. Thanks to all my boyfriends who in turn shared their knowledge of 'geekdom' their physics books and were proud to have me as 'eye candy' staffing their GE Science Fairs booths.
Finally it's chick to be geek!!

"Growing up, I considered myself a closet geek. That is to say, I got into all the same things geeks did, but I only did them behind locked doors. The fact is I was afraid of how far my social stock might plummet if it got out that I was more into comic books and science fiction than the Cabbage Patch Kids that other girls my age were obsessed with".....link to GEEKCHIC. Some of Aurora's greatest phrases:
"....Nerds, geeks, dorks, losers; whatever the title, it always means essentially the same thing."
"....Star Wars - the enormous sweep of popularity the Holy Trilogy achieved suddenly transformed the dark underbelly of social inequity..."
"...geeks started showing up at their high school reunions driving Ferraris with a Playmate by their side.."
".... The media has now made it permissible for everyone to tap into their Inner-Geek..." for the rest of the post go to GEEKCHIC.
