ALIAS -- thanks for 5 incredible years ....that's the message the producers wrote on the final screen of the show tonight and I ping it back to them. Five years ago I watched the first ALIAS and I was hooked -- you had me Sydney at the second pink wig. As she says tonight -- their idea of fun was having her run around the world in high heels, surrounded by billows of Napalm. Yep, what a show it was/is! It was one of the first 'noveau television' series to be clever, smart, sexy and pull the rug out from the viewer every episode. It prepped the way for the outrageousness newcomers like NIP & TUCK...and it irritated the heck out of much of the audience and many of the bloggers because it just didn't make sense. But then isn't life like that? The double life thing seems so appropriate in this era of Second Life and Virtual Worlds and Games-- where many of aspire to be or do something else. The script played dirty with the viewer and that's they way we've seen it in real life lately-- NSA with phone records, $90,000 in cash in a freezer in DC...It moved like an action film and it ployed with our emotions with her father and mother and 'sister' and lovers. What a run it's been....
Sydney's kids both have brown hair....one of the all-time favorite blogs on Hollywood2020 was a guestimate about what color hair Sydney's character's baby would have. In the finale, we saw both of her kids Isabelle (the one recently born and suddenly grown to 4-5 or so) and another baby -- both brown hair...just in case you were still wondering. But nothing, nothing can ever beat the thrill of that first season --she was a female Bond and she was never shaken but she sure stirred it all up for us viewers! I can't resist this link to the site which shows some great wigs and clothes that could remind you and your lover about all those great nights Syndey Bristow had around the world -- and all of those hot hairstyles & slinky gowns of course.
