Redfield, who shares screenwriting credit for the film with producer Barnet Bain and Dan Gordon, was joined on Grauman's stage by Bain, executive producer Salle Merrill Redfield, director Armand Mastrorianni and the film’s star, Matthew Settle for a discussion about the film and the adaptation of the book after the screening.

The theatre was packed for the elegant evening -- some of the attendees even wore long satin gowns most of which were accented by new-age type shawls with fringe or velvet touches. “Even before we made any formal announcements, we were fielding countless emails and phone calls about our presentation of THE CELESTINE PROPHECY MOVIE, " said Nadine Hamdan, head of marketing for Hollywood’s Master Storytellers and one of the series’ executive producers. At the event the hosts asked who had received emails promoting the event and most everyone raised their hands and some attendees even got more than one email -- talking about the power of viral marketing and the value of community! To create the film version, Redfield (who originally self-published the first version of the book and sold 100,000 copies by traveling around the country and promoting the book in local bookstores, actually filmed his own production company. MOVIE OVERVIEW = Hollywood2020 says "The Celestine Prophecy" is one of the most beautiful films we've ever seen. Park your skepticism in the lobby and suspend your disbelief and go with the flow and you'll revel in the panorama of spectacle that they create. Several attendees in the audience said the film gets better and better each time you see it. Although the film has no rating, it has been shown at hundreds of churches nationwide and it should be in 25-30 markets in the next month or so. BEYOND THE CELESTINE PROPHECY MOVIE -- Siddartha! During the discussion Bain announced one of his upcoming projects is a movie version of Siddartha. Redfield revealed that there is a 12th Insight that is happening now and he's about ready to unveil it to his fans and the world. He hinted that it was about community. Fun to hear Redfield reveal that the lead male character in the film is based on him.
Serendipity struck several times for this blogger at the event. I sat in the same row as a past client of mine who is now a reknown talent agent. The gal next to me who was a pal of hers lived in Hawaii at the same time I did and we knew several people in common. Then at the wrap party I was chatting with a producer who it turned out was also a past grad of my Star*course classes on how to promote and market you and your project to Hollywood. Of course with more than 2000 Star*Course grads out there and hundreds of past clients it makes sense that I'd run into several at this event that is all about hopes and dreams and being a star in your own life while contributing to others.
