MCDONALDS IS GETTING A NEW UPDATED LOOK AND STYLE and it sure looks to me like it's a STARBUCKS clone -- McDonald's Tricky MakeoverWiFi & all...according to Promo magazine McDonalds gave out 25,000 coupons for Wi-Fi access at the recent E3 (www.e3expo.com) in Los Angeles. McDonald's USA is providing free Wi-Fi Internet services to attendees at the 2006 Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3 Expo), and is offering consumers a chance to sample the service via a coupon offer.

The PROMO magazine story online says, "As the official QSR and Wi-Fi sponsor of the E3 Expo, McDonald's (thought it was funny this hotlink on the Promo magazine site clicked me through to American Express NOT McDonalds-- talk about CLICK FRAUD :)))plans to distribute some 25,000 coupons for free Wi-Fi service in more than 7,000 McDonald's nationwide. Coupons are being distributed at the three-day Expo in Los Angeles, which ends Friday, and can be redeemed for a free hour of Internet access.The QSR(blogger note that is acronym for Quick service restaurant)introduced free Wi-Fi services for Nintendo's DS players in Wi-Fi-enabled restaurants (more than 7,000) in the U.S. (Xtra, Oct. 20).McDonald's, Nintendo seal Wi-Fi deal Non-gamers (blogger note I think they actually mean non-Nintendo DS players-- there are gamers that use other handheld platforms) pay $2.95 for a two-hour wireless Internet connection in participating restaurants.
