Dr. Priscilla Renouf, the archeologist at Phillips Garden, in Port au Choix Newfoundland has been digging into the past for 20 years at the same location exploring the remains of a Dorset Paleo-Eskimo dwelling.

According to a local report, the world came to know about Port au Choix back in 1967 when a local The unexpected "finds" of that amateur excavation turned up 117 human skeletons in what is believed to be a Maratime Archaic Indian burial ground.
GOOD NEWS FOR ARCHEOLOGY AND NEWFIE HERITAGE....bad news for the local community who it appears did not get a new movie house! But who knows some day the Phillips Garden dig may just make it to a bigger screen than the Parks Canada Visitor Centre.
