ABOUT GOOD STEALING/BAD STEALING:
WHY NO YOUTUBE? Joyce Schwarz (this blogger) called Sean Devlin Bersell, VP, Public Affairs for the Entertainment Merchants Association and he was very responsive. Helped me find the video post online. He was on location in Vegas at the VSDA conference. When asked where the PSA's were online, Bersell referred us to the above links. We asked if it was on Youtube.com and he replied that's where it is -- referring to the above links-- not Youtube or other popular viral video sites. Hopefully, some young people will see it at this site-- which seems a bit off of the mainstream??
THE WINNER SAYS:“As a filmmaker and an artist, I can attest that movie piracy hurts more people and businesses than most people realize,” Boedigheimer said. “Movie piracy takes away not only from studios, theaters, video stores, and other businesses, but also from the filmmakers themselves. We need to alert people that, beyond the economic harm of movie piracy, there is the issue of the ethics of stealing someone else’s work.”
