WEBLO.com -- by Joyce Schwarz, blogging at www.hollywood2020.blogs.com You regular readers know that I am still skeptical of Weblo.com -- I signed up during the first week and bought several cities and several airports...
.I was so excited-- I 'bought' a virtual version of my parents' home town, I bought my college town, Athens, Ohio and some other choice real estate on the surfing shores of Hawaii and even an airport in Newfoundland that I found was one of the all-time great airports to chill at.
BUT then my enthusiasm dropped because the site was not only slow, the tools did not work. So call me silly but I invested in a membership at an additional $45 per year figuring if I joined the elite maybe it would be better. Little did I know had I spent $1000.00 instead of the $100 I spent for virtual real estate I could have been a Billionnaire in Second LIfe.
The boards are filled with criticism of the site and many think it's a pyramid scheme with some of the ten employees of Weblo owning much of the real estate and driving up prices etc. Now I surf over there and guess what-- they are closed for maintenance...and back on December 1 -- hmm isn't it December 1 -- and they are in Toronto 3 hours ahead of me -- hmmm that's 4:30 a.m on the 1st...WHAT IS THE STORY ...oops I see they say 10 a.m. well, I won't make it until that -- so I'll have to check when I wake up tomorrow -- or should I say today. Never fear weblonians (people of Weblo) we will followup.
Meanwhile here's a link to the latest story we've seen about Weblo -- this time it's from Australia-- and note that no idiot paid $265 USD or whatever it says in the story to join-- that is wrong-- I paid $40 and I'm a bronze member I think the most you could pay for membership was $75 -- but who knows-- because that's right they are DOWN FOR MAINTENANCE until December 1....
Unreal estate boomThe Age, Australia -
... It's a virtual game, of course, but the money is real and Chisholm is one of thousands of first-time gamers who have joined Weblo (www.weblo.com) to profit ...
Scheduled Maintenance (note on front page of weblo.com) |
Hi Weblonians, In order for you to see the profits you've made we've shut down the site for scheduled maintenance from 11PM ET to 10AM ET. The site will be unavailable intermittently during this maintenance period. Starting Dec.1st you will be able to see your profits. We're also unveiling more intuitive and visually appealing Asset Pages that include improved image galleries and sections to add news, forums, and polls. Video and audio capabilities will follow. Descriptions of the improved revenue structure will be posted on Dec. 1st as well. Thank you for your understanding. |
