SO WHAT DOES A COLUMBINE SURVIVOR THINK ABOUT this controversial video game called "Super Columbine Massacre RPG"? by Joyce Schwarz, blogging at www.hollywood2020.blogs.com. I wondered about this and decided to do an online search to see if anyone connected with Columbine disaster has made comments about this videogame which is once again in the eye of a tornado of discussion since it has been yanked from the Slamdance video game competion set for next week.
AND I FOUND AN EXTENSIVE INTERVIEW on Kotaku.com that is truly amazing because of the comments by Columbine survivor Richard Castaldo: here is the link to the complete article. I'm surprised that Kotaku.com or any of the other coverage ie NEWSEEK etc has not referred back to this interview? Blogger note, I did put a phone call into Castaldo at what appears to be his home near Denver but was only able to leave a voice-mail message.
Columbine Survivor Talks About Columbine RPG - Kotaku
great interview Kotaku/Crecente! and thanks Richard Castaldo for sharing your thoughts on this game. It sounds like the contrast between cartoonish ... Note that the Kotaku.com article dated May 6, 2006 is written by Brian Crescente who is the video game reporter for Colorado's Rocky Mountain News. Crescente's interview with Castaldo is fairly short -- about 6-7 questions and answers and includes these comments. Please refer to the link above to read the complete interview. COLUMBINE SURVIVOR RICHARD CASTALDO made these comments in an interview on Kotaku.com earlier this year in regard to the increasingly controversial "Super Columbine Massacre RPG" that was recently yanked by organizers from the Slamdance video competion: * I didn't think it was necessarily bad, if i was done the right way, which at least part of it seemed to be. *It probably sounds a bit odd for someone like me to say, but I appreciate the fact at least to some degree that something like this was made. I think that at least it gets people talikng about Columbine in a unique perspective, which is probably a good thing. See the complete interview more details: Columbine Survivor Talks About Columbine RPG - Kotaku. Blogger note, you may remember Castaldo from his appearance in the 2002 documentary BOWLING FOR COLUMBINE by Michael MooreBowling For Columbine : Now Playing!. In the preface to his interview on Kotaku.com, the interviewer notes that: Richard Castaldo, who was last paralyzed from the chest down after being shot in the arm, chest, back and abdomen by Eric Harris and Dylan Klebold during their attack on Columbine High School. Later in the article, Crescente explains that Castaldo who is an audio engineer with film and other media credits is interested in getting into the video game business himself. As noted, blogger Joyce Schwarz has a call into Castaldo and we're hoping that he will reply to our message. |
