Author and new media consultant Joyce Schwarz, JCOM got a chance to chat with Bezos about her theory that it's 1994 for the book pubilshing industry and he agrees. His first response was -- "Yes, and it's so exciting".
New business models needed:
Later Joyce ventured to suggest that new business models are coming to the book industry and that one of the best ones she sees could work is the independent film model. Bezos seemed interested. Now as they say in Hollywood Show me the money. Joyce said if he'd give her $100,000 she'd give him $200,000 in production value/marketing/publicity and he could do what they do best at Amazon-- distribution!
Amazon and pay per view video & 5000 more kindle titles!
Earlier this week Amazon announced pay per view streaming video and they already have Amazon Unbox for showing other indy films -- why not Amazon Studios! Hmm or do they have that already-- better check it out tomorrow! They move so fast over there, 5000 new books from Simon and Schuster for Kindle tis week.
