MYANMAR ....you'd think in this day and age it would be possible to aggregate an assortment of videos on Myanmar from the past hour around the world blogged by Joyce Schwarz, Hollywood2020.blogs.com. So this Sunday morning, May 11, I set out to do just that-- to get the latest videos together from the past couple of hours about/from Myanmar. And it's an amazing challenge.
A) No one aggregates recent international video
B) Youtube.com -- is about the best for getting a quick overview (yep,) youtube.com certainly not print or online journalism from main stream media.
C) The expat websites try but they don't have a real 'overview'.
Here's what I found that may be of interest -- from Youtube.com:]
1) US MARINES are there, 2) US Navy is positioning from Thailand 3) US military is the largest humanitarian organization in the world according to one reporter. 4) How one monastery is helping out.
The only thing victims can do now is fend for themselves. Now, with entire communities completely destroyed by the cyclone people are seeking shelter wherever they can.
One monastery in the south Myanmar is being used - even though it does not have a roof. (more) (less)
