Southern California Business Growth Conference Wows Entrepreneurs

The Southern California Business Growth Conference produced a big WOW with the entrepreneur reporter Hollywood2020 got to cover the event for us, by Joyce Schwarz, author & emerging media consultant.  

Julie Fink, co-founder of Zolio, at  www.zolio.com  in town from the Midwest so it seemed like the perfect opportunity to get a REAL early stage entrepreneur to cover the conference for our blog. Zolio is a web-based resume portfolio tool that allows job seekers to establish their professional indentities.  Zolio offers a free resume builder, work sample management and promotional tools like a personalized URL and widget badge.

Talking about the Capital Zone which was a featured event at The Southern California Business Growth Conference, entrepreneur Julie Fink,co-founder Zolio.com says that the Capital Zone was booth after booth of venture capitalists, angel investment groups and bankers.

...it was like 'heaven' for an entrepreneur....

Julie Fink sums up her experience by saying "As an entrepreneur the Capital Zone was 'heaven', She explains "It is every early stage entrepreneur's dream to walk into a room and see such a wealth of knowledge and opportunity to grow in Southern California. " 

According to Fink, the event was basically a one-stop shop for angel investors, VCs, vendors and entrepreneurs to learn the ins and outs of how to grow business in Southern California.

She explains that many of the people that she met attending the event were working for large companies who wanted to grow their Southern California entities and raise money. "Overall the conferene offered a plethora of business services from legal to IT to accounting." Julie adds that she noticed on the conference badges that attendees came from all over the world to the event from as far away as China and Europe.

SO CAL Business Growth Conference To Draw more than 1000, Meg Whitman is Keynote

By Hollywood2020.net: Today's, Southern California Business Growth Conference at the Anaheim Marriott is expected to draw more than 1000 attendees. One of the keynotes is by Meg Whitman and the other is by Jack Massimino. Whitman, of course is the former head of eBay and Massimino heads Corinthian Colleges.

If the conference sounds new-- you're right it was formed by the merger of the Investment Capital Conference by the Los Angeles Venture Association and the Entrepreneurs Conference by the Harvard Business School Association of Orange County.

SENSOR CHAIR -- a dozen years before DDR

ABOVE see the "Sensor" chair which was developed as part of THE BRAIN OPERA an extension of the Hyperinstruments project started at the MIT Media lab back in 1986. That was almost a dozen years before DDR (Dance Dance Revolution which combines motion & music and visuals launched in the USA (according to wikipedia).

WHY DOES THE SENSOR CHAIR MATTER? WHAT DOES IT HAVE TO DO WITH THE VISION BOARD?

At first designed to enhance the virtuosity of some of the world's greatest performers, from Yo-Yo Ma to Prince, hyperinstruments started evolving in 1991 towards the development of expressive tools for non-professional musicians.

The Brain Opera is the culmination to date of this work, and points the way to the further development of expressive objects (furniture, remote controls, clothing, etc.) and responsive environments (including living rooms, concert halls, and department stores).

AND by creating your own vision board or vision video -- you are basically simulating your future environment. You are using objects (video, words, sound, singing) to 'simulate' and immerse yourself into your best possible future.
