As a Media Futurist, it's always fascinating to see how the moving parts of Convergence are fitting together. Back in 1992 I wrote my first piece on the Future of Hollywood & Media called HOLLYWOOD2000 for InMotion (now FILM & VIDEO MAGAZINE) that's why I'm focusing in on the 2010 Talk Media Conference & Talk Show Bootcamp in this blog post to give you an idea why hundreds of Radio & TV talk show hosts and producers from across the country and around the globe have come to Marina Del Rey, CA this week.
According to the website for the TMC & TSBC event: the 2010 Talk Media Conference & Talk Show Boot Camp is designed to provide format-focused learning sessions and thought provoking speakers targeting Talk radio professionals and other related industry executives. Whether you are a News/Talk/Sports programmer, manager or on-air talent, TMC&TSBC 2010 offers new research, insights and the information needed to navigate the changes and challenges of Talk media today and tomorrow.
The splashy logo for the Talk Show Conference and bootcamp in Marina Del Rey only hints at the excitement about the future of talk going on at the Marriott Resort this week.
So who put this event together? 'Hosted by longtime Talk Media journalist and NTS MediaOnline publisher/editor Al Peterson, Talentmasters president and Morning Mouth publisher Don Anthony, and respected broadcast and publishing executive and longtime publisher/CEO of R&R, Erica Farber.
