    Hallmark's "I LOVE US" theme for Valentine's Day 2011 is a big hit with fans and viewers of it's commercial series created by it's agency Leo Burnett, but some diehard fans of the movie %00 Days of Summer are clammering in to say that the line was originally featured in that film.

Growth Capital Conference Attracts Angels and Next Generation Start-ups: Joyce Schwarz, JCOM New Media Blogging at hollywood2020.net

The Growth Capital Conference click for April info at the Olympic Collection in West Los Angeles recently turned out quite a crowd of Angel Investors and next-generation entrepreneurs recently.

         Hollywood2020.net founder Joyce Schwarz who heads JCOM marketing, emerging media and company launches was on hand to blog the event. 

     In an advance press release online: David T. Neman, co-chair of the GCC said: "Young companies continue to attract investment capital if they have growth prospects and the angels and VCs continue to invest in promising early-stage deals. "

   The event was well organized and well-attended it looked as if there were more than the anticipated 100 entrepreneurs at the Olympic Collection ballroom to  network with early-stage investors including Maverick Angels, Pasadena Angels, Tech Coast Angels, Zone Ventures and SEC Law Firm. One wall was lined up with table displays from those chosen to pitch at the morning event.

   The GCC advance press explained that, "Over 500 investors are represented at GCC January 27. The Angels represent over 400 individual investors. The Angels fund over one deal per month, with investments ranging from $200 thousand to $5 million. Zone Ventures is part of a venture capital network with 100 investment professionals, $6 billion invested, and spanning 30 cities in USA, Europe, and Latin America. Offshore funding sources are also represented by the early-stage venture capitalists."

How To Become an Oracle in Your Industry by Joyce Schwarz, bestselling author and company launch advisor

     Today in the TPE BLOG online I explain that the best ways to a) break into a new industry b) meet the VIPs in the industry and c) gain a great reputation is to become what I call an "Oracle" in that chosen arena.

 

 
 
In summary to become an Oracle in your chosen industry you can 1) Survey VIP's on a current topic ie forecast for next three months  via email and post the survey or send to all VIP's, 2) Blog real-time at conferences and take pix of the speakers with you alongside them congratulating them for a jobg well done, 3) Set up podcasts for trade groups and do your own weekly podcasts interviews or forecasts for the industry. 4) Moderate panels at confabs 5) Organize your own tele-summit or event on the state-of-the art of your industry.

      TO GAIN RECOGNITION: write articles and co-author a chapter in an anthology book relevant to your industry or to business in general. 

Good luck. Soon they may call you an Oracle too. The most important thing is that they WILL call you.l

SUEDE AND SCHWARZ BOTH OHIOANS!

     Both Ohio natives, Schwarz and Suede are now living and working across different coasts -- Joyce in Los Angeles area and Suede in New York. What's rather amazing though is that they are homies -- Joyce's family lives only miles away from where Suede's family is in Seven Hills Ohio. They even went to rival high schools. So much fun to see Ohioans do well!

     The Oscar(TM) campaign continues to heat up in Los Angeles and around the globe but one of the most interesting films seeking votes for an Academy Award is NOT a major motion picture or a leading man or woman -- it's a documentary film called "EXIT THROUGH THE GIFT SHOP" that has become a cult favorite and a medis darling.

Here's what appears to be the official site: Exit Through The Gift Shop  www.banksyfilm.com/ , I say 'appears' because nothing about this film or the promo or even the filmmakers and artist depicted in it is antyinhg but straight forward.

It would take several blogs and probably hours or research to explain the maze of mystery or mystique surrounding this nominated film.
