WHO'S WHO AT DIGITAL HOLLYWOOD: CNET Networks (www.cnetnetworks.com) Martin Green, Senior VP Community, CNET Networks talking to Joyce about the new family of brands that now compose CNETNetworks including CHOW.com, TV.com, Webshots, Tech Republic, BNET, Gamespot, ZDNet, BUILDER.COM, CNET CHANNEL, CNET DOWNLOAD.COM, CNET NEWS.COM, CNET REVIEWS, MP3.COM, MYSIMON, SEARCH.COM, TV.COM and URBANBABY all trademarks of CNET Networks, Inc. now. Joyce told Martin she's a big fan of the newly updated CNET Channel. Moderating a cutting-edge session called Advertising NEXT -- Andreas Stavropoulos,managing director Draper Fisher Jurvetson, (www.dfj.com). Stavropoulos has an amazing background leading that firm's investments in Centerpost, ePocrates, 4info, Mimeo and Polaris Wireless. Easy to see from his indepth analysis of what's up in the web2.0 environment why he graduated Phi Beta Cappa and Summa Cum Laude from Harvard College. Tim Chang, Gabriel Venture Partners, www.gabrielvp.com.session on Web2.0 packed the Catilina Ballroom at the Loew's Santa Monica resort. I love the slogan over at GabrielVP.com "We roll up our sleeves and get our entire team involved" because that's JCOM's (this blogger's firm) core belief too. Chang leads their wireless sector. We had to drill down a bit on his bio on the corporate website to find out that he's also an accomplished actor and musician who continues to perform in the Bay area...any wonder why he's so comfortable behind the podium? Giles BianRosa, CEO, Azureus, www.getazureus.com -- talking about his new content site and bringing streaming media --especially DVD quality movies online in the next few weeks...on the website it explains that Azureus 3.0 (launching later this year) joins movie and music fans with filmmakers and artists to create a rich, social, and completely new entertainment experience.
Hollywood2020's Joyce Schwarz also caught up with Nancy Dunn,VP Advertising Strategy, Clip Syndicate, www.clipsyndicate.com talking about her stint at AOL as Director of Business Strategy and Operations in the Sales Development group and the ins and outs of advertising online and sharing her views on the future of search. In case you don't know Clip Syndicate syndicates local news video from 65 different local affiliates of ABC, CBS, NBC, and Fox & more. It's great way as they say on their site 'to put video clips to work!" Fascinating to see how they are monitizing next-gen content for themseles and for publishers. The founders of ClipSyndicate are true syndication veterans. Sean Morgan is one of the founders of Screamingmedia, the Internet’s largest text news syndication service. Joyce Schwarz in her hat as emerging media consultant for JCOM for another client, caught ClipSyndicate during one of it's previews at NAB Spring 2000 in the DAM (Digital Asset Management) section in the ViewCast booth. Alas, we missed Ron Insana from CNBC when he was at that event April 23-25 in Vegas. Insana is a board member of Clip Syndicate's parent company Critical Mention’s Board of Directors. And that was even before Dunn joined the firm...so we at Hollywood2020 have had Clip Syndicate on our radar for awhile-- with good reason!

More on what's new at with mobile for Intel later...by the way that's the first time we've seen Infotainment on a business card...I remember when I included that term in my book back in the 90's we had to add a definition to make people understand what "infotainment" was...but now -- now more...as I
always say it's just one of the components of what I've been calling 'custom-tainment" for the past decade or so! Monahan will be doing a session at DH @ CES called Ubiquitious Video to the Consumer...how timely that will be.
