Bandai, a toy manufacturer, and Pasadena-based Evolution Robotics

At Hollywood2020.blogs.com we're looking forward to seeing the new NetTansor. We heard about it from Socaltech.com's note today which said that Bandai released a new robot based on Evolution's robotics technology,
Bandai's NetTansor mobile robot is targeted at families and hobbyists,

and allows people to control the robot remotelyfrom the Internet. The robot uses Evolution Robotics' ViPR vision system
technology, for recognizing objects and images. Terms of the technology
deal were not disclosed. Bandai will sell the NetTansor robot kit in Japan
starting in December. Evolution Robotics is an Idealab-backed firm

WHAT CAN IT DO?

Standing at 12 inches tall, NetTansor features a three-wheel driving base,

integrated video camera, microphone and speaker,

along with a built-in wireless card and antenna. .

You can create your own program for NetTansor--

take and send pix to show food in pet bowl,

flash card game to help a students

NetTansor dance and play a song on demand by showing a command card!

Why we like it at Hollywood2020 -- a) it uses the web b) it can be used as a learning tool c) it can do some in-house surveilance d) it is FUN!
