HOT NEWS IN THE NEW HOLLYWOOD: DIGITAL, NEW MEDIA, WIRELESS, IPTV, BROADBAND, VOD & MORE....by Joyce Schwarz, blogging at www.hollywood2020.blogs.com, emerging entertainment business development and marketing at JCOM, www.joycecom.com, from Marina Del Rey, California...
WHO'S WHO AND WHAT'S WHAT IN THE NEW HOLLYWOOD: In the past few days at Digital Hollywood (www.digitalhollywood.com) and at the WHAT TEENS WANT conference last week, (whatteenswant.com)it became apparent to me that the word on lots of the new deals in the "New Hollywood" are just not getting out to the right people-- at least those attending the conferences. Lots of execs and even producers/developers and content creators at these events seem to be living in their own silos of online or wireless, or branding or advertising or TV or mainstream media. So at each show that we go to we'll be doing a post or several on who we meet FACE2FACE....and calling that HOLLYWOOD2020 FACE2FACE...and giving links to their companies. Watch for this new report.
CROSS PLATFORM IS HERE-- one of the things we're going to talk about at the panel I'm moderating at Digital Hollywood is cross-platform content delivery and access. Meaning across all kinds of delivery systems from TV to PC to Mobile/Wireless devices of all kinds to Broadband to Satellite to VOD to Game Platforms (Sony, Nintendo, XBox & more). People at these conferences that I've been attending -- and that includes the game conferences I've gone to in the past months like E3, Austin Game Conference, GDC etc...talk 'cross-platform' but don't seem to walk the talk.
So Hollywood2020.blogs.com is coming to the rescue-- hopefully we'll begin to provide a bridge to cross-platform and links to all geographic areas of the new Hollywood (or at least some of them) including Silicon Valley, San Francisco (South of Market & More), Madison Ave, Hollywood & Vine & the other hot spots across the US -- Colorado (for Cable and high tech), Boston -- for the technology corridor and Philadelphia (more cable) and Illinois -- Motorola & more and other areas. We'll also link to some Europe "New Hollywood" developments and to a bit in Asia and even third world outposts where wireless and even solar are bringing aspects of the new Hollywood, not the least of which is EDU-TAINMENT to new audiences.
COVERING THE NEW HOLLYWOOD BEFORE MULTIMEDIA!
So that regular and new readers can identify these posts -- we'll mark them
HOT NEWS and provide links to the sources. Watch for these posts. We'll try to post them daily and recap weekly and then montly reports. It's a big task-- but we've been covering this area since 1990 --yes-- we told that to someone at Digital Hollywood and they said -- but there was nothing in Digital Hollywood...We've been covering MULTIMEDIA before anyone knew what Multimedia was/is.
